Worldwide Deliveries

1) Scope & Definitions

This policy governs worldwide deliveries for Artisan Furniture B2B customers across all operating hubs. “International” refers to shipments crossing national borders from the shipping hub. “Domestic” refers to shipments within the same country as the hub. All pricing is trade-only and denominated in GBP unless otherwise stated.

2) Origin & Responsibility (Jaipur, India)

All products originate at our community-driven factory in Jaipur, India, combining multi-generational craft with responsible manufacturing.

Compliance & Assurance

• SMETA social audit (labour, H&S, ethics; zero child labour)
• B Corp alignment (governance, workers, community, environment)
• EUDR compliance (deforestation-free for EU)
• VRIKSH certification (India timber legality verification for export)
• EUTR alignment (responsible timber)
• GMP controls across finishing, polishing, packing
• Forbes-featured community model

Sustainability

• No air freight from India; consolidated ocean freight only from source
• Plastic-free packaging transition at no extra cost
• Regional hubs shorten last-mile and reduce carbon miles

3) Fulfilment Centres & Territories (No Cross-Shipping)

Shipments from regional hubs are domestic-only, except the UK flagship which ships worldwide (non-EU)

Legacy references to Cranbury, NJ and Perris, CA are superseded by Fairview, NJ and Compton, CA for US operations.

4) Duties, Taxes, Incoterms & Billing

• DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) for international shipments from the UK hub (except where point 11 DDP limitation applies)
• EU via Magdeburg, DE and Madrid, ES: IOSS/VAT prepaid; border-free EU movement
• Domestic (US/CA/AU/UK): local duties/taxes per territory rules
• No DDU/DAP terms in normal operation (DDU applies only where DDP cannot be shown/charged per point 11)
• B2B only; no MOQ
• Currency:Billed in GBP; issuer FX applies for non-GBP cards

5) Programme Mechanics (How it Works)

• No minimum order quantity and no minimum monthly spend
• VAT for UK & EU shipments is calculated automatically at checkout
• EU duties/taxes handled under IOSS/DDP
• For international (non-EU) shipments, UK hub uses DDP by default; if a destination falls under the DDP limitation list (point 11), duties/taxes are payable at destination (DDU)

Illustrative Calculations

Examples below are illustrative and may differ by tariff code, destination rules, and courier assessments.

• EU VAT example (Malta): A bedside at £100, delivery £15 → VAT applies on £115 at Malta’s rate (e.g., 18%).
• Non-EU duty example (New York, USA): A cabinet at £200, delivery £150 → duty % applies on £350. Under standard policy this is DDP from UK; if the US were on the DDP-limitation list (it isn’t), duties/taxes would be paid at destination.

7) Product Eligibility & Access

• Some SKUs are not eligible for international shipping due to volumetric size/weight or local regulations
• Eligibility is flagged on product pages and confirmed at checkout or order confirmation
• Access constraints (stairs, narrow lanes, special equipment) may require smaller vehicles or extra handling

8) Returns (International — Limited)

International returns are limited. Qualifying scenarios include wrong item, transit damage, infestation or manufacturing defect. Remedies include refund / discount / replacement (case‑by‑case, subject to evidence and approval).

9) Carriers & Modes

• US and Canada: UPS, FedEx + regional LTL/FTL
• EU: DHL road networks + regional EU carriers
• UK (International): DHL, pallet networks, ocean (air may be used for certain last‑mile legs only; no air from India)
• Australia: Domestic van/truck providers
• Modes: courier parcels, pallet freight, LTL, FTL, containerised wholesale

10) Sustainability & Carbon Footprint

• No air freight from India; ocean freight only from source
• Container consolidation to maximise utilisation
• Regional fulfilment to reduce cross‑border trucking

• Carrier selection prioritises EV fleets and cleaner fuels

11) Duty Delivery Paid (DDP) Limitation Notice

Due to system constraints and limited visibility between UK customs and some overseas border agencies, DDP may not be visible/applicable at checkout for certain destinations. For these destinations, DDU (“DDP at destination”) applies: freight shows at checkout; duties & taxes are paid by the importer/recipient to the logistics partner on delivery.
